Who am I?
I am a demographer at the Centre of Migration Research, University of Warsaw. I have a background in economics and sociology, which I combine in the study of population phenomena in the post-communist countries. I have been collaborating with French academic institutions, in particular Institut national d’études démographiques, for many years.
What are my academic interests?
My academic interests include international migration and its relation to population ageing, in particular, out-migration as a driver of the ageing structure of Central European populations. I also study the evolution of population mortality using the most thorough data (causes of death) and methods.
What do I teach?
At ISSC I run a workshop on social science methods. I used to teach statistics and demography in France and Poland.
Why ISSC?
Interdisciplinary and international perspectives are crucial to my research. I look forward to learning new points of view from my students.
