dr Jan Grzymski

Who am I?

I have been working at the Center for Migration Research of the University of Warsaw as an assistant professor since 2019. I am involved into two research projects on securitization of migration and emergency mobility governance during COVID-19 pandemic. I am also co-leading UACES Research Network ‘The Limits of EUrope: Challenging the Crisis of European Integration’.

What are my academic interests?

In my research over the recent years I am focusing on different aspect of EU politics, related to crisis of European integration, identity, borders, migration and mobility. I am also interested in political thought related to state and politics.

What do I teach?

My main teaching at ISSC is tandem course ‘Theories of Politics and State’ with Prof. Przemysław Kordos, which offers students intense reading course of the most relevant texts in political philosophy. I am also co-leading the class ‘Violent conflict, war and migration’ with Dr Marta Jaroszewicz.

Why ISSC?

This programme gives an unique chance for me to share my academic interests and the most recent research results with students. The ISSC’s rationale is very close to my understanding of higher education and academic research as I strongly believe in their interdisciplinary character.
