Who am I?

Journalist who morphed into migration researcher. After years at “Gazeta Wyborcza”, where I wrote about European affairs and Poland’s EU accession, I pursued a PhD in political science. Now a proud member of one of the best migration research institutes in Europe, the Centre of Migration Research, University of Warsaw.

What are my academic interests?

Migrations, of course. I have researched Polish post-EU accession migrations and the political integration of Polish migrants, migration and integration policies. Currently, I am involved in research projects concerning the role of employer interests in migrations and the migrations of medical doctors.

What do I teach?

My teaching focuses around two themes – migrations and academic and journalistic writing. I have taught these within the postgraduate program at CMR, at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies UW, where I also work, and during the Migration Days organized in 2021 by the University of Milan.

Why ISSC?

I hope the program will give me the opportunity to work with curious students who wish to share my passions and pursue careers related with migrations. Many universities in the world have MA programs in migration studies. I hope this is a step towards the University of Warsaw also creating one.
