Dr. Kamil Wielecki is a broadly trained anthropologist and social philosopher. He has undertaken long-term ethnographic fieldwork research in Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. He received studentships at the Kyrgyz National University in Bishek (2005) and the University of Vienna (2005-2006). He was also a Visiting Scholar at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow (2011-2012) and at the Central European University in Budapest (2013). In 2017-18, within a scholarship of the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission, he served as a Visiting Professor at Wagner College (New York City). He is the author of a monograph and over a thirty of scholar and public-interest articles published in Polish, Russian and English. His scholar interests cover postsocialist studies, the political economy of capitalism, and economic and philosophical anthropology. At the ISSC studies, he teaches “Capitalism and Other Beasts” and co-teaches the seminar “Globalization as Risk and Opportunity”.
