I am an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of “Artes Liberales” at the University of Warsaw specializing in Early Modern Hispanic culture. I have received my Ph.D. (summa cum laude) in cultural studies from the University of Warsaw in the framework of International Ph.D. Program: The Traditions of Mediterranean Humanism and the Challenges of Our Times: the Frontiers of Humanity, and the MA in comparative literature at the Institute of Iberian and Latin American Studies at the Faculty of Modern Philology at the same university. Currently I am also the Principal Investigator of NCN research project The Mother Tongue: Textuality, Authority and Community in the Post-Teresian Reform Female Monasticism (c.1560-1700); Research Fellow in the ILLA CCHS CSIC international research project Fastos, simulacros y saberes en la América Virreinal; and the general co-editor of the Brepols Publishers book series Women in Christianity. A Cultural History of Women Religious from Late Antiquity to the Early Modern Period.
My primary field of scholarly specialization is women’s cultural history in Early Modern Spain, with a focus on sociocultural notions of religiosity, authority, community, literary authorship, and gender.
My research and teaching interests embrace the history of ideas, religion and culture of the Modern Age, female monasticism, feminist theology, rhetoric and the history of emotions in religious discourses.
